The nine children of Victoria and Albert

In the 19th century, the main royal houses of Europe were well stocked with queen Victoria's offspring and her grandchildren. Her nine children were:

Victoria
Albert (later Edward VII)
Alice
Alfred
Helena
Louise
Arthur
Leopold
Beatrice

You may already see some namesakes of the current royal family.

Tomorrow: Victoria, Empress of Prussia

  1. The current royal family have so many names, it would be hard not to include some of those.

Interestingly (to me alone, I do realise) that the women's names are still perfectly acceptable and even desirable, while the men's have gone right out of fashion.

  2. No Percy or Ike. No Todd or Blake.

    No Randy.

  3. There's no Percy, Ike, Todd or Blake on your list of Victoria's offspring. If there had been, I'm certain we would have a Prince Harry Percy Ike Hewitt, and a Prince William Todd Blake. No doubt about it. Both would be Randy too.
