Speaking of Ceremonies

The Olympics are over. I watched the closing ceremonies last night (or as much as NBC would let me watch between commercial breaks and editing) and, as always, I was sad for them being over so quickly.

For those who watched the closing ceremonies, weren't they just super? No complaints here. All the athletes seemed to be happy, all the right rock stars and performers were chosen to bedazzle, and even Prince Harry was whistling to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" and singing along with The Walrus song. Me too. Coo-Coo-Ca-Choo.

I've seen a few Olympics come and go now, and I can't remember any that were  better than these.

Bravo, London.

  1. I have to agree that, despite my misgivings, they did a great job!

    1. You had misgivings? YOU??? Heh. But it turned out very nice. Wish it could have lasted as long as your tax payments are going to be on it. :)

    2. Sorry! I should have said 'a great over budget (by 6.5 billion) job'.

      My mistake!

  2. As I tried to leave a post office in northern France today, the man behind the counter first quizzed me on my nationality (and there I was thinking I spoke accentless French :) ) and then congratulated me on the Olympic Games. He thought they were great! I never expected I'd hear such a thing. He did say Angleterre but I decided not to complicate matters while I could escape safely.

    1. I congratulate you on the Olympic Games, too. I know how hard it must have been for you, but you pulled it off. Took off for France before the Spice Girls showed, I see. Hmmmm.

    1. I wouldn't know. Who are you anyway?

Is it all you dreamed it would be so far?
