Wishes for the new year

I would like to live in a world at peace, and in a world free of want - at least freedom from want for the basic necessities of life.

If that is impossible, I would like to live in a country, at least, which is at peace with the rest of the world and whose citizens enjoy those basic necessities of life. Add to that a large measure of personal freedom; I would want my government to be as unlike the government of North Korea as possible, for example. But may we see the errors of our ways.

If that is impossible, then let me, at least, live in a state and community which proactively care about the wellbeing of the people who live there and earnestly work to make things better.

If that is impossilbe, then let me, my own self, at least, keep the dream for these things alive in my own heart, and strive daily to do what I can to make them come true for those around me.

I wish you all a happy new year, a year which comes closer to these goals than the year before. Thank you for your company and your friendship.

Que la luz de la esperanza alumbre sus dias.

  7. Is there an actual reason why you can't leave comments on either AsTheCrackerheadCrumbles or The Tribulation Times Herald-Exhorter, or are you just going with the flow in England and being snooty?

  8. Some blogs I just can't seem to think of comments for. Personal diaries are hard for me to make comments on, for example. Blogs which show pictures are blogs I love to look at, but seldom can add any more than the beautiful picture itself. Blogs whose purpose is to teach rather than converse or debate, I also find hard to comment on, especially if the subject matter is doctrinal in nature and the author is not interested in debate per se. I still read many of these blogs though. I make a special effort to comment on blogs whose authors comment on my own.

I'm not British and have never been to the UK.

My dictionary defines snooty as showing disapproval or contempt; being conceited, aloof, superior, self-important, disdainful, supercilious, snobbish and several other things I hope I am not and strive not to be.

I can't remember ever having met, on the internet, anyone from the UK who seemed to be any of these things or who acted condescending toward me. Most of them are better educated than I am but they treat me as an equal. I consider them salt-of-the earth honest and nice people.

I'll keep trying. I'll keep reading the blogs I seldom comment on. Thanks.

You really need to pay more attention to Adullamite. Of course, it may just be me... Nope, I checked, and it ain't.
